Lunesdale Escapes and New House Caravan Park is a quiet, family-run business based in Cowan Bridge, which is situated minutes from the beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. With the rolling Dales to the east and the dramatic Lake District to the west, we are spoilt for views come rain or shine. In this lush valley, New House Caravan Park began its humble beginnings as the family-run cattle and sheep farm, New House Farm. The farm was run by Colin (Thomas and Tracey’s stepdad) and his father Lawrence. In 1980 the father-son partnership made the decision to diversify, and a five pitch caravan field was opened. This proved popular, so it steadily grew into a 50 pitch site aided by the addition of toilet and shower facility in 1997. Over the years, Colin has built up a loyal caravanning community, many of which hold seasonal pitches. These guests return year after year to their caravan haven based here in the Lune Valley. Fast forward to 2021, Thomas and Tracey joined Colin in the running of the site with the ambition of developing the caravan park into a unique holiday experience - Lunesdale Escapes. Lunesdale Escapes offers luxury camping stays in three beautiful bell tents and a stunning holiday home, also on located on site – New House Cottage.

Our guests enjoying the great outdoors is central to everything we do... Tracey and her husband, Nat know a thing or two about camping and what can make the experience extra special (and much easier!). That’s why we like our bell tent guests to pack minimally, turn up and just relax – that’s what it is all about after all! We have done all the hard work for you. No erecting a tent, no packing a cool box and no pumping up an air bed. Take full advantage of these luxuries and immerse yourself into the great outdoors without the faff!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this very pleasant cottage. Seeing the cows and sheep outside every morning was very amazing to our 3-year-old. Tracey is a super hostess, very quick with responses while we were driving to the property. The cottage was very clean and well organized with everything we needed. All the rooms are spacious and comfortable. If we’re ever in the area again we would gladly choose New House Cottage as our place to stay. Highly recommend!

Very peaceful get away. The bell tents are very specious and have everything you need for your stay; a comfy bed, a cosy fire pit, decking with lights, fridge, heater, kettle and much more. You won’t be displeased with your stay.

A beautiful cottage situated in a great location, perfect to visit both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. The property is well designed, and all amenities are provided. The view from the conservatory is amazing and made our stay extra special. Both bedrooms are of a good size and the 2 bathrooms are a definite plus. The living room is very cosy and was perfect for our evening wind downs. Finally, Tracey was the most amazing host, great communication throughout and was very helpful whenever needed. We will definitely be back again.

Lunesdale Escapes is in a perfect location whether you are coming to explore, seek adventure or relax and unwind. We are based in between the stunning Lake District and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Our site is located a short 2-minute drive from Kirkby Lonsdale, famous for its scenic market square, delicious cafes, restaurants and pubs and a gorgeous river walk by Devil’s Bridge. There are many attractions and exciting things to do and see all within an hour’s radius – we boast quick access to Ingleton, Lancaster, Kendal, Windermere and Skipton (to name a few).
